The ‘Measure Collection’ by Studio Doreen Westphal produced from pieces of leftover leather; which are the direct remnants of large scale productions of others. By creating new possibilities for these remaining fragments of material, Westphal opens up an alternative rich source of proper materials. The Measure Collection, turns a former dispensable matter into a valuable product and, therefore, generates a rethink of our (ab)use of material and an adjustment in our behavior as consumers.
